National Organic Week is fast approaching and Beach 2 Bush tours are proud to be a part of it. We have 3 tours happening in these 10 days however we don’t stop there our tours are ongoing. We do tours to Organic Farms 2 – 4 times per month (January excluded) and we can do more, just ask us.

National Organic week is about increasing the awareness to the public about the benefits of organic products and farming production systems and to accelerate the uptake of these in the wider Australian community and environment.

Costa Georgiadis is the Ambassador of National Organic Week and we agree with his comment. “As consumers, you want food you can recognise and trust. Buying organic products supports food safety, health, good nutrition and the environment. Products that carry the logo of an accredited organic certification body guarantees they are genuine organic.”

What is Organic?

Organic is 100% natural – pure and simple, it’s a system that works within the bounds of the natural sequences of the environment. It doesn’t rely on synthetic farm fertilisers, herbicides, pesticides or drenches and the cornerstone of organic production is healthy soil.  Organic farmers work hard to build strong lands for a sustainable food production system for the future and they must take into account animal welfare, land restoration and re-vegetation. The organic farmer doesn’t just consider the financial market but also considers the environmental and social returns as well.

Why Purchase Organic produce?

Organic food contains no harmful preservatives or additives and is GMO free.  Research has shown that Organic food has a higher nutritional value and contains on average 25% more beneficial nutrients than non-organic equivalents, not to mention your food is a lot more flavoursome and an absolute joy to eat. It is commonly heard that organic is ‘the way food used to be!’ I also feel that eating food that hasn’t been contaminated by toxic chemicals, synthetic fertilisers or anything that has that skull picture on it has to be a lot better for our health and will save us a fortune on doctors and medical bills.

Produce that is grown organically is supporting our earth and is using natural resources for sustainability. It brings a balance between the natural environment and our food.

So come on get on board and let Beach 2 Bush tours show you some of the suppliers of organically grown food. You will love it and you will feel the benefits I am sure.
